My Testimony
Here's the story of my path to faith... |
 |
I grew up in First Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC and was involved in the Kentucky
Mission trips and choir tours. It was through these experiences that I came to know the Lord in a personal way.
Twenty-five years ago when I first got into teaching and coaching, I made a promise
to God that if He would help me get a teaching and coaching job then I would try to be a Christian example to young people,
and would never turn down an opportunity to speak on His behalf.
Over the past 25 years God has blessed me far beyond my dreams. He has given me
the opportunity to serve on the State Board of Directors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has given me the opportunity
to share my testimony on the same program with such people as Tom Osborne, former coach at the University of Nebraska, Tom
Landry, former coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Bobby Bowden, head football coach at Florida State University, and former NBA
star David Thompson, just to name a few.
God has blessed me through coaching. I have had the opportunity to coach championship
teams, and undefeated teams. I have had the opportunity to coach in the South Carolina state all-star basketball game. I have
been named Coach of the Year. I am the all time winningest Head coach at Boiling Springs High School. All of these accomplishments
are things that I will always remember, but the greatest victories and thrills that I have had in coaching was seeing
players on my team accept Christ into their lives for the first time. These victories will last forever!

THE FOUR SPIRITUAL LAWS
1. God loves you and has a plan for your life.
John 3:16
John 10:10
Ephesians 2:4
I John 4:9,10
2. Man is separated from God by sin.
Sin is choosing to do your own thing. Sin does not please God.
If you do not know if something is sin or not then ask yourself these questions:
1.) How does it affect God?
2.) How does it reflect God?
3.) What does God's word say?
4.) How will it make God feel?
3. Jesus Christ is God's only provision for my sins.
Jesus' death on the cross bridges the gap of sin between man and God. This the only way for man to get to
God.
4. We need to receive Christ into our lives.
Ephesians 2:8-9
When Christ offers to come into our lives we can do one of three things:
1.) Look , and never do anything.
2.) Reject Christ
3.) Recieve Christ and let him come into our lives and take total control.
